Accessibility

The Copestone Proofreaders website has been built with the intention of making the content accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability:

·        Page structure is conveyed using header elements

·        A style sheet is used

·        Pages are designed so that they can be viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels

·        All text is published as HTML, rather than in other, less accessible formats

·        A white background with plain black text is used to make reading easier

·        Text, with the exception of that on the company logo and globe image, can be increased or decreased in size by using your browser’s ‘View’ option 

·        Images that convey important information have alternative text

·        No information is exclusively conveyed using colour

·        A  site map is available to provide information about the layout of the website.

We have not used access keys because of the potential for them to cause confusion. Our research showed that most users who might benefit from access keys already used keyboard shortcuts, and that additional, site-specific access keys were not likely to be helpful. If you have any thoughts on our decision, please let us know.

This website already adheres to many of the latest guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, and, whilst we strive to keep up with the latest best practice, it is not always possible to do so in every aspect.
